Progress Comes in Waves
As silly season hits, it's the perfect time to remember that working on our health and fitness is supposed to enhance our life, not take away from it. That's why this month is dedicated to keeping things fresh and fun. When we get short on time it's easy to get down by thinking we should be making plenty of progress every month, but that's not how it works. Progress comes in waves, and when you're tight on time due to work, social and other commitments, this is usually the first thing that takes a hit- so be sure to give yourself a break during this period and not be so harsh on yourself.
This is reflected in the focuses by keeping things broad, similar to last month, but less obvious progressions. The issue with progressions is they are designed to lead you to the next one, and whether you know it or not, we do a lot of them. This month however, we're going to remove the idea of 'building towards something' and come from a perspective of 'doing it because we can.'
