Tribute to Lazar and Competition Prep
As we come out of a phase of redundant pairings, it's time to get that refreshing feeling of making progress. By removing the challenging movement pairings, you're going to find those tricky gymnastics movements will feel a little (or a lot) easier as you get a chance to test them without any pre-fatigue of another movement getting in the way. That being said, we're putting a big emphasis on bumping up those core gymnastics skills this month by building some strict gymnastics volume. That means accumulating a lot of reps within a session. This is a great opportunity to user a less intense version of a movement to allow you to really pump out some high-rep-sets.
Next, we'll be dedicating a day to perform the Lazar tribute workout. During the first event of this year's CrossFit Games, one of the athletes tragically died. This workout is to remember them, and to encourage anyone willing, to make a donation to support Lazar's family through this tumultuous time.
Alongside some classic strength development and upping the strict gymnastics work, we'll be revving the engines in preparation for the Gymsync event on Saturday 28th September. A simple workout that focuses on cardio machines and burpees in a longer time period than usual. With over 50 gyms across the country performing this event on the same day, the live leaderboard is going to be on display to help find that extra 1% of effort just when you need it!
